Responsible Mining Senior Manager, Levin Sources

Andrew Cooke is an environmental scientist and lawyer who works as a minerals-sector sustainability manager with corporates, governments, regional organisations, international & UN agencies, civil society and NGOs.

His experience spans several of the key disciplines relevant to responsible business including law, environment, CSR, governance and finance.

Through an initial career as a patent lawyer, Andrew has significant experience of industry and understanding of industrial technological processes. After 8 years’ in legal practice, Andrew requalified in environmental management and accumulated a further 25 years of experience working in environmental management for NGOs, UN agencies, governments and in mining and extractives industry companies in Madagascar and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Since joining Levin Sources as Senior Manager in 2016, Andrew has acquired a working knowledge of international regulations and guidelines in the responsible mining and sourcing of minerals. Andrew is a council member of the Madagascar Biodiversity Fund (FAPBM) and is registered as a team auditor for the International Council for the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
