2019 IPAF Meeting

The 2019 Indigenous Peoples Advisory Forum meeting will bring together representatives from mining-affected communities in India, Suriname, Australia, Guinea, and Ghana. Additional participants from ASI, Equitable Origin, India Institute of Social Science, RESOLVE, University of Exeter, University of Sunshine Coast, JNU University, among others will bring their expertise to the discussions.
Over the course of 10 days, the event will include the official IPAF meetings, a 1-day site visit to mining area at Lohardaga, a tribal village visit, local training and an optional trip to Odisha area. Following from previous IPAF meetings in Australia and Suriname, participants will continue experience sharing among IPAF members and in other regions, discuss common issues and options to address in each situation and participate in the ASI IPAF Training Program: “The aluminium supply chain and Indigenous People-working together”
