Aluminium Stewardship Initiative certifies Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd, against ASI Performance Standard


Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd, has achieved Certification to the ASI Performance Standard for its facility in Jiangyin City, China, demonstrating its commitment to environmental, social and governance performance. The facility primarily produces aluminum foils for cardboard, thermal insulation, power capacitors, cigarette liners and flexible packaging.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd, facility for aluminium foil production has been successfully certified against ASI’s Performance Standard for responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. The facility’s annual production capacity of double zero aluminum foil is 83,000 tons.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The independent, third-party audit of Jiangsu Zhongji was carried out by DNV GL.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI, said “We sincerely congratulate Jiangsu Zhongji for their Performance Standard Certification for their Jiangyin City facility. Aluminium foil is used not only in packaging but also in enhancing energy and thermal efficiency.
