ASI was pleased to support the Can Manufacturers Institute and all co-hosts and sponsors in this event held in London on 1-2 October. ASI presented on its Entity-level 1.5C aligned GHG decarbonisation pathway method, and looked head to future work through its standard revision and potential for more carbon-related claims.

A key outcome of the Summit was agreement around a recycled content calculation methodology for aluminium cans, with further work on supporting guidance scheduled for Q1 2025. The recycled content formula calculates total recycled content, including both post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled materials. It applies to the entire can—body and ends—and other potential aluminium alloys.
