The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Governance, Environment and Social, which address key issues such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions. The independent, third-party audit of the Arconic facilities was carried out by DNV GL.
Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said “ASI warmly congratulates Arconic on achieving ASI Performance Standard Certification. The company has been a long-standing supporter of ASI, and we take pleasure in seeing the company demonstrate its commitment to sustainability on the ground. We look forward to seeing Arconic expand its certifications throughout its global network of facilities.”
“We’re very proud to have achieved ASI Performance Standard certification for our headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as well as our operations in Samara, Russia” said Tim Myers, Arconic Executive Vice President and Group President Arconic Global Rolled Products, Extrusions and Building and Construction Systems. “This certification demonstrates our commitment to maintaining robust environmental, social and governance values, and we look forward to achieving this important certification in other operations around the world.”
