Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd has achieved ASI Performance Standard certification for its material conversion activities at the Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd. plant in Anhui Province, China. The facility produces precision aluminium strip and has an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd. has been successfully certified against the ASI Performance Standard for responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. The Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd. plant’s main production processes include remelting and casting, cold rolling and finishing.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Governance, Environment and Social, which address key issues such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.

The independent, third-party audits of the Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd. facilities were carried out by DNV GL.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said, “ASI congratulates Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd. on their Performance Standard certification covering their Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd. facility. We are pleased to see the company continue to extend the number of ASI Certified facilities, giving a clear signal of their ongoing commitment to responsible aluminium production.”
