ASI certifies HMT Höfer Metall Technik GmbH & Co. KG against Performance Standard V3
The facility’s processes include sawing, stamping, drilling, milling, and joining, with products serving the automotive and construction industries, amongst other sectors.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that HMT Höfer Metall Technik GmbH & Co. KG has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022). The extrusion plant specialises in producing aluminium profiles. The facility’s foundry produces up to thirty tonnes of aluminium billets daily, and the facility features two fully automatic extrusion lines. The facility’s processes include sawing, stamping, drilling, milling, and joining, with products serving the automotive and construction industries, amongst other sectors.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain.
The independent, third-party audit of the HMT Höfer Metall Technik GmbH & Co. KG facility was carried out by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Seven minor non-conformances are noted under Criteria 2.7a-f Emergency Response Plan, 5.3a-e GHG Emissions Reduction Plans, 9.2a-e Gender Equity and Women’s Empowerment, 9.8e Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas – Report Annually, 10.3a-c Forced Labour, 11.1a Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System, 11.1b-e Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System – Reviews and disclosure. During the Certification Period, HMT Höfer Metall Technik GmbH & Co. KG will be implementing a corrective action plan, which will be verified in follow-up audits.
