ASI certifies three Nemak S.A.B de C.V facilities against Performance Standard V3
The facilities produce components for the automotive industry, specialising in developing and manufacturing aluminium products for e-mobility, vehicle structures and chassis, as well as internal combustion engine powertrain applications.

Nemak S.A.B de C.V (Nemak) has achieved Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification for its Nemak México, S.A. Plants 5 & 6, Nemak México, S.A. Prototype Development Center, and the Nemak México, S.A Melting Center, located in García, Nuevo León, in the north of Mexico.Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Nemak has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 for facilities across its Nemak Mexico production unit and Melting Center. These facilities produce components for the automotive industry, specialising in developing and manufacturing aluminium products for e-mobility, vehicle structures and chassis, as well as internal combustion engine powertrain applications.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain.
The independent, third-party audits of the facilities were carried out by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. No non-conformances were identified.
