ASI certifies Novelis North America against Chain of Custody Standard V1
Novelis Inc has been successfully certified against the ASI CoC Standard V1 (2017) for its North America operations.

Novelis Inc. has achieved ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V1 (2017) Certification across its Novelis North America operations. The Certification covers the company’s regional management functions at its Novelis Corporation Headquarters in Georgia, USA, as well as its production facilities across the United States and Canada. These include plants in Kingston, Ontario, Canada; Berea, Kentucky; Greensboro, Georgia; Guthrie, Kentucky; Oswego, New York; Warren, Ohio; and its joint venture site Logan Aluminum Inc. in Russellville, Kentucky.Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Novelis Inc has been successfully certified against the ASI CoC Standard V1 (2017) for its North America operations. The Certification encompasses responsible sourcing practices for these facilities, which perform a range of activities, including remelting, recycling, casting, hot mill rolling, cold mill rolling, coil finishing, annealing, beverage can coating and production, automotive aluminium product manufacturing, and various pre-treatment and finishing processes.
The ASI CoC Standard V1 sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the products produced by ASI Certified Entities. The CoC Standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence processes are in place to identify and address critical issues in the supply chain, such as corruption, human rights abuses, and materials originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas.
The independent, third-party audit of the Novelis North America facilities was carried out by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd. The audit took place prior to May 31, 2023, thus enabling a Chain of Custody Standard V1 certification. No non-conformances were identified.
