ASI certifies Nemak Poland SP. Z O.O. and Nemak Slovakia s.r.o. against Chain of Custody Standard V2
The facilities produce aluminium components for the automotive industry, including engine blocks, transmission cases, e-engine housings, shock towers and battery housings.

Nemak S.A.B de C.V has achieved ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V2 (2022) Certification for production of aluminium components for the automotive industry at its Nemak Poland SP. Z O.O. and Nemak Slovakia s.r.o. facilities. The Certification also covers outsourcing contractors.Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced Nemak Poland SP. Z O.O. and Nemak Slovakia s.r.o. have been successfully certified against the ASI CoC Standard V2 (2022). The facilities produce aluminium components for the automotive industry, including engine blocks, transmission cases, e-engine housings, shock towers and battery housings. The facilities achieved ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification in March 2024.
The ASI CoC Standard V2 sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the materials produced by ASI Certified Entities. The CoC Standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence processes are in place to identify and address critical issues, such as corruption, human rights abuses, materials originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas in the supply chain and support responsible sourcing.
The independent, third-party audit of the Nemak S.A.B de C.V facilities was carried out by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformance is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Two minor non-conformance were noted under Criteria 7.1c Responsible Sourcing Policy (Human rights due diligence) and 7.1d Responsible Sourcing Policy (Conflict-affected and high-risk areas). Nemak S.A.B de C.V will be implementing a corrective action plan, the implementation of which will be verified in follow-up audits.
