ASI certifies Gestamp Etem Automotive Bulgaria S.A. Against Performance Standard V3
The facility supplies aluminium profiles for use in multiple industries including automotive, with an annual production capacity of approximately 12,300 tonnes.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Gestamp Etem Automotive Bulgaria S.A. has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022). The facility supplies aluminium profiles for use in multiple industries including automotive, with an annual production capacity of approximately 12,300 tonnes. Key activities at the site include sawing, machining, bending, washing, quality control, packaging, and storage.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process. It defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain, such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The independent, third-party audit of Gestamp Etem Automotive Bulgaria S.A. was carried out by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Seven minor non-conformances are noted under Criteria 3.3a-c Payments to Governments, 4.1a Environmental Life Cycle Assessment, 4.4a-c Collection and Recycling of Products at End of Life – Material Conversion and other Manufacturing, 5.1a-b Disclosure of GHG Emissions and Energy Use, 5.3a-e GHG Emissions Reduction Plans, 6.1a-f Emissions to Air, 9.2a-e Gender Equity and Women’s Empowerment, 11.1b-e Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System – Reviews and disclosure. During the Certification Period, Gestamp Etem Automotive Bulgaria S.A. will be implementing a corrective action plan, which will be verified in follow-up audits.
