ASI certifies Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd against Chain of Custody Standard V2

Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd has achieved ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V2 (2022) Certification for the manufacture of aluminium alloy sheets, strips and foils at Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Five Star Aluminium Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Teemful Aluminium Industry Co., Ltd. in China. The facility achieved Performance Standard V2 (2017) in December 2022.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd has been certified against the ASI Chain of Custody Standard V2 (2022). The Certification covers the parent company and its subsidiaries Hangzhou Five Star Aluminum Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Teemful Aluminum Co., Ltd., which specialise in the production of aluminium sheets, strips and foils. Production processes include re-melting, continuous casting, cold rolling, coating, slitting and oxidation, with aluminium foil products supplied for power batteries used in new energy vehicles and other foil applications. The certified subsidiary operations have a combined annual production capacity of approximately 160,000 tonnes.

The ASI CoC Standard V2 sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the materials produced by ASI Certified Entities. The CoC Standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence processes are in place to identify and address critical issues, such as corruption, human rights abuses, materials originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas in the supply chain and support responsible sourcing.

The independent, third-party audit of Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd was carried out by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services. One non-conformance was identified during the Chain of Custody Certification audit under Criterion 10.1 Verification of CoC Documents. Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd will be implementing corrective actions, to be verified in a follow-up audit.
