About Hindalco Industries Limited, Muri Works
Hindalco Industries Limited, Muri Refinery unit is India’s first alumina refinery, established in 1948. The current refining capacity is 450 KTPA. The facility processes bauxite into alumina, which is a critical step in Hindalco’s integrated aluminium value chain, producing material for the company’s internal operations and specialty alumina for sale. The Bauxite is sourced from Hindalco captive Bauxite mines within India through most efficient transport method, a combination of conveyor and Train. The facility is situated in the town of Muri, which is a railway junction and approximate 65KM from the Ranchi, capital city of Jharkhand State of India.
