About Aluar Aluminio Argentino S.A.I.C.
Aluar is an Argentine company with over 50 years of experience, a leader in aluminum production, that promotes a business model based on the increasing use of renewable energy and the responsible management of its impacts. Its main industrial complex is located in Puerto Madryn, where it has a production capacity of 460,000 tonnes per year. It exports 80% of its production to the international market, mainly to the United States, Europe, and Asia, and supplies the Argentine market. Aluar has a diverse energy mix, integrating clean and traditional sources. It is increasingly producing renewable energy at its own facilities. Since 2016, it has steadily increased renewable energy generation at its own facilities with the development of the Aluar Wind Farm, which is currently being expanded to reach an installed capacity of 582 MW by 2026.
Our Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Membership reflects Aluar’s firm commitment to responsible environmental management, transparency, and long-term social responsibility. By joining ASI, we strengthen our position among the industry’s best-performing companies in sustainability, particularly in the use of renewable energy.
