ASI certifies AS METAL COM SRL against Performance Standard V3
The facility recycles aluminium and supplies secondary raw materials for the automotive, steel, construction and consumer goods sectors.

AS METAL COM SRL has achieved ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification for the recycling of aluminium scrap for use in the manufacture and supply of secondary aluminium alloys cast in ingots and hemispheres (half-balls) for the automotive, household appliance and steel industries in Bucharest, Romania.
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that AS METAL COM SRL has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022). The facility recycles aluminium and supplies secondary raw materials for the automotive, steel, construction and consumer goods sectors. The Entity produces approximately 17,000 tonnes per year of secondary aluminium alloy cast in ingots and hemispheres.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process. It defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain, such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The independent, third-party audit of AS METAL COM SRL was carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Seven minor non-conformances are noted under Criteria 1.3a-e Code of Conduct, 2.1a-f Environmental, Social, and Governance Policy, 2.4a-e Responsible Sourcing, 2.5a-g Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, 2.7a-f Emergency Response Plan, 5.3a-e GHG Emissions Reduction Plans and 6.4a-b Public Disclosure of Spills and Leakages. During the Certification Period, AS METAL COM SRL will be implementing a corrective action plan, which will be verified in follow-up audits.
