ASI certifies CSMET Group Co., Ltd. against Performance Standard V3
The facility’s production processes include feeding, melting, alloying, degassing, slag removal, ingot casting and transportation.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that CSMET New Material Group Co., Ltd. has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022). The certified facility produces aluminium alloy ingots and aluminium alloy liquid for domestic component die-casting and host factories. The facility’s annual production capacity is approximately 70,000 tonnes, with production processes including feeding, melting, alloying, degassing, slag removal, ingot casting and transportation.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process. It defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain, such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The independent, third-party audit of CSMET New Material Group Co., Ltd. was carried out by Shanghai Kylin Certification Service Co., Ltd. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Eleven minor non-conformances are noted under Criteria 2.4a-e Responsible Sourcing, 4.1a Environmental Life Cycle Assessment, 4.4d Collection and Recycling of Products at End of Life, 5.1a-b Disclosure of GHG Emissions and Energy Use, 5.3a-e GHG Emissions Reduction Plans, 5.4 GHG Emissions Management, 6.1a-f Emissions to Air, 6.2a-g Discharges to Water, 6.5a-c Waste Management and Reporting, 9.1a-d Human Rights Due Diligence and 10.8a-c Working Time. During the Certification Period, CSMET New Material Group Co., Ltd. will be implementing a corrective action plan, which will be verified in follow-up audits.
