Dadco Alumina and Chemicals Limited has achieved ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V2 (2022) Certification for their alumina refining facility Aluminium Oxid Stade GmbH in Stade, Germany.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Dadco Alumina and Chemicals Limited has been certified against the ASI Chain of Custody Standard V2 (2022). The refinery produces over one million tonnes of alumina annually using the Bayer process, supported by integrated port, administrative, and residue management facilities.

The ASI CoC Standard V2 sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the materials produced by ASI Certified Entities. The CoC Standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence processes are in place to identify and address critical issues, such as corruption, human rights abuses, materials originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas in the supply chain and support responsible sourcing.

The independent, third-party audit of the Dadco Alumina and Chemicals Limited was carried out by GUTcert (AFNOR Group). A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Six minor non-conformances were identified during the Chain of Custody Certification audit under Criteria 8.8a Internal Overdraw (Not exceed 20%), 8.8b Internal Overdraw (Not exceed force majeure situation), 8.8c Internal Overdraw (Made up within subsequent Material Accounting Period), 8.9b Positive Balance (Expiry), 9.6 Error (Shipping) and 10.4 Error (Reception). During the Certification period, Dadco Alumina and Chemicals Limited will implement a corrective action plan, which will be verified in follow-up audits.
