Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd. has been successfully certified against the ASI Chain of Custody Standard. The Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd. plant’s main production processes include remelting and casting, cold rolling and finishing.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI CoC Standard sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the products produced by ASI Certified Entities.
The independent, third-party audit of the Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd. facility was carried out by DNV GL.
Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said, “We congratulate Jiangsu Zhongji Lamination Materials Co., Ltd. on achieving the ASI Chain of Custody Standard Certification for their Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd. plant. As downstream demand for more responsible sourcing of aluminium increases, the suppliers of aluminium products around the world are using ASI Standards to demonstrate their commitment. With appropriate upstream sourcing, this certification gives Anhui Maximum Aluminium Industries Co., Ltd.’s customers the possibility to source ASI Certified Aluminium strip and foil products.”
