ASI certifies two China Hongqiao Group Co., Ltd. subsidiaries against Performance Standard V3
The facilities produce a wide range of aluminium products catering to diverse sectors such as packaging, industrial applications and manufacturing.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that China Hongqiao Group Co., Ltd. has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) at two of the company’s subsidiaries, Weihai Haixin New Material Co., Ltd. and Weihai Chenxin New Material Co., Ltd. The rolling facilities have an annual production capacity of 120,000 tonnes, and 30,000 tonnes respectively. The facilities produce a wide range of aluminium products catering to diverse sectors such as packaging, industrial applications and manufacturing.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain.
The independent, third-party audit of the China Hongqiao Group Co., Ltd. subsidiary’s facilities was carried out by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformances is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Three minor non-conformances are noted under Criteria 5.1a-b Disclosure of GHG Emissions and Energy Use, 10.8a-c Working Time and 11.1a Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System. During the Certification Period, China Hongqiao Group Co., Ltd. will be implementing a corrective action plan, which will be verified in follow-up audits.
