Aluminium Stewardship Initiative certifies Mytilineos S.A. against ASI Performance Standard
It is the sole vertically integrated bauxite, alumina and aluminium producer with its asset base entirely in Europe.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that MYTILINEOS has been successfully certified against the ASI Performance Standard for responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium for their Bauxite mining activities of Delphi Distomon site; Refining, smelting and casthouse activities at the Aluminium Of Greece Plant; Port Facilities at the Aluminium of Greece Plant; and, Mytilineos corporate headquarters in Athens. The operations have an annual production capacity that exceeds 198,000 tons of aluminium, 860,000 tons of alumina and 630,000 tons of bauxite.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Governance, Environment and Social, which address key issues such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The independent, third-party audit of MYTILINEOS’ Metallurgy Business Unit operations was carried out by EUROCERT S.A.
