INNOVATION New Material Technology Co., Ltd. has achieved ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V2 (2022) Certification for its subsidiary, Suzhou Chuangtai Alloy Material Co., Ltd.’s, facility in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. The facility’s processes include melting, casting, cutting, homogenising, profile extruding and machining for the manufacture of un-forged aluminium alloy billets and aluminium alloy profile.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that INNOVATION New Material Technology Co., Ltd’s subsidiary, Suzhou Chuangtai Alloy Material Co., Ltd., has been successfully certified against the ASI CoC Standard V2 (2022). The company achieved Performance Standard Certification for the facility in April 2024. The facility specialises in the processing, sales, research and development of new aluminium alloy materials, lightweight aluminium magnesium alloy materials for transportation, and high-end products such as computer, communication and consumer electronics products. The facility has an annual designed production capacity of 250,000 tonnes for casting and 60,000 tonnes for extrusion.

The ASI CoC Standard V2 sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the materials produced by ASI Certified Entities. The CoC Standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence processes are in place to identify and address critical issues, such as corruption, human rights abuses, materials originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas in the supply chain and support responsible sourcing.

The independent, third-party audit of the INNOVATION New Material Technology Co., Ltd. facility was carried out by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformance is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. Two minor non-conformances were noted under Criteria 5.2 Unique Identification and 8.8a Internal Overdraw (Not exceed 20%). INNOVATION New Material Technology Co., Ltd. will be implementing a corrective action plan, the implementation of which will be verified in follow-up audits.

“We congratulate INNOVATION New Material Technology Co., Ltd. on achieving Certification against ASI CoC Standard V2. Through CoC Certification, ASI-certified materials can enable downstream customers in the 3C product and other sectors access to responsibly sourced inputs. This certification demonstrates the company is making progress on supply chain due diligence and provides a pathway for continuous improvement.”

– Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI
