Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) – the largest single site aluminium smelters in the world outside China - is renowned for its premium grade aluminium products, technological strength and innovative policies, strict environmental guidelines and high track record for health and safety. Established in 1971 as a 120,000 metric tones per annum smelter. Alba continuously expanded to become capable of producing more than 1.6 million Mt per annum of the highest-grade primary aluminium, with products ranging from standard ingots, extrusion billets, rolling slab, properzi ingots, and molten aluminium. The output is supplied to Bahrain's downstream aluminium industry and exported to regional and international market globally. Alba's success established a blueprint for other non-oil industries to follow, including a thriving downstream aluminium industry.
