The names of Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz, the founding fathers of Daimler AG, are closely linked to the development of the automobile. The history of the automobile began in 1886 with the first motor coach from Daimler and the tricycle from Carl Benz. Today, we are one of the largest suppliers of premium passenger cars and are the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer worldwide. We offer financing, leasing, fleet management, insurance and inmSvative mobility services.
Four future fields will fundamentally change mobility: the increasing interconnectedness of vehicles, the advances in autonomous driving, the development of digital mobility and transport services, and electro mobility. We are actively driving this change and, as one of the leading vehicle manufacturers, we also want to be a leading provider of mobility.
Sustainability guides us in our daily business activities. For this reason we have committed us to promote sustainability and the respect for human rights in supply chains. To reach this goal, it is essential for us to establish an open dialogue with our suppliers, as well as associations and organizations.

We have become a member of the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative to intensify this dialogue with all stakeholders of the aluminum supply chain. Thanks to joint forces, we hope to enhance the implementation of sustainability standards and to spread responsible sourcing practices within the supply chain.
