Aluminium Stewardship Initiative certifies Kunshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. plant against ASI Chain of Custody Standard
Kunshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. achieved certification against the ASI Performance Standard in February 2020.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Kunshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. has been successfully certified against the ASI Chain of Custody Standard for its Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province facility. The facility’s products are destined for use in a range of downstream sectors, including food, cigarettes, medicine, daily necessities, cosmetics and other high-end packaging foil and high-grade foil for the electronics industry. The plant has a capacity of 25,000 tonnes of aluminium foil per year.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI CoC Standard sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the products produced by ASI Certified Entities. The independent, third-party audits of the Kunshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. facility was carried out by DNV GL.
