Aluminium Stewardship Initiative certifies Xiamen Xiashun Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. against ASI Performance Standard

Xiamen Xiashun Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. is the fifth company in China to achieve Certification to the ASI Performance Standard, demonstrating its commitment to environmental, social and governance performance. Xiashun is the largest manufacturer of six- to seven-micron aluminium foil products in China. Six- to seven-micron aluminium foil is widely used in flexible packaging applications, particularly in the food and beverage industry.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Xiamen Xiashun has been successfully certified against ASI’s Performance Standard for responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. The certified Xiashun sites manufacture and sell foilstock, litho stock (CTP), light-gauge aluminium foil that is less than 10μm and lithium battery foil.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The independent, third-party audit of Xiashun was carried out by DNV GL.
