Aluphoenix srl (Aluphoenix) has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification for its remelting and casting facility located in Riese Pio X, Italy. The plants’ annual production capacity is around 50,000 metric tonnes of aluminium ingots, primarily destined for use in the transportation sector.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Aluphoenix has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V2 at its facility located in Riese Pio X, Italy. The company specialises in the melting and amalgamation of high-grade aluminium, including from pre- and post-consumer scrap, into alloys in the form of ingots for use in the air and marine transport, renewable energy, and automotive sectors. In 2022, Aluphoenix used 11,291 tonnes of recycled material for the production of its aluminium alloys.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Environment, Social, and Governance, which address key issues such as biodiversity, labour rights, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.

The independent, third-party audit of the Aluphoenix facility was carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification.

“We sincerely congratulate Aluphoenix for achieving Performance Standard Certification for their remelting and casting operation in Riese Pio X, Italy. The company leverages its many years of experience and innovative spirit to ensure high-quality products for its customers. Aluphoenix’s ASI Certification demonstrates that the company is also committed to address environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects of its production process.
