ASI certifies Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. against Performance Standard
Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. (Sanyuan Aluminium) has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification for the processing of aluminium coil and sheet at its two subsidiary plants Zouping Xinsanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. and Shandong Longkou Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd.

Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. (Sanyuan Aluminium) has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification for the processing of aluminium coil and sheet at its two subsidiary plants Zouping Xinsanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. and Shandong Longkou Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. The plants’ annual production capacity is around 100,000 metric tonnes of products primarily destined for use in the packaging sector.Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Sanyuan Aluminium has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V2 at its subsidiary operations – Zouping Xinsanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. and Shandong Longkou Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. – located in Shandong Province, China. The company’s main products are aluminium tab stock and end stock for use in beverage and food aluminium can packaging.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Environment, Social, and Governance, which address key issues such as biodiversity, labour rights, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The independent, third-party audit of the Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. subsidiary plants was carried out by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services.
