The Cookware Company Ltd has achieved ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification for the production of cookware at its facility located in Jiangmen, China. The production process includes polishing, grinding, bonding and coating of cookware. It is the first cookware producer to gain ASI certification. The company has an annual production capacity of 16 million pieces.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that The Cookware Company Ltd has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) for its Jiangmen Anotech Cookware Manufacturing Co., Ltd. facility in Jiangmen, China. The facility specialises in the production of a range of cookware made from aluminium. Aluminium is an exceptionally functional material for cookware due to its lightweight nature, remarkable durability, resistance to corrosion, efficient heat conduction and high thermal diffusivity.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process. It defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain, such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions.

The independent, third-party audit of The Cookware Company Ltd operations was carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification.

“We congratulate The Cookware Company for achieving Performance Standard Certification V3 (2022) at its facility in Jiangmen, China. ASI’s updated 2022 Standards mark a significant advancement in expectations and encourage continuous improvement. By obtaining ASI Certification, members gain the ability to evaluate their operations based on industry-leading ESG criteria, paving the way for the adoption of more responsible production practices and processes.”
