ASI is pleased to announce that Tesla Inc. has joined as a new Industrial User member.

Tesla’s EVs include the following – Cybertruck, Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y. Our EVs offer improved safety, performance and cost-of-ownership – plus way more fun. Another way to achieve our mission is by taking steps to improve sustainability with our manufacturing processes, especially in our aluminum value chain. This desire to drive sustainability is why we are joining ASI, as our views align in the maximization of the contribution of aluminium to a sustainable society. Tesla’s Lathrop-Harlan site is leading the charge to be the first ASI certified site at Tesla. The Lathrop-Harlan site has many different functionalities but its main purpose is the aluminium casting operation which produces shock towers, torque boxes, and rear nodes for Models S and X. Model S Plaid has the quickest acceleration of any vehicle in production and Model X Plaid is the highest performing SUV ever built (more power and quickest acceleration of any SUV).

In continuation of these efforts, Tesla is pleased to become a member of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative, which promotes measurable and continual improvements in the key environmental, social and governance impacts of aluminium production, use and recycling. With this collaboration (Starting with the Lathrop-Harlan site), we look to empower and lead the way in the implementation of sustainability practices for EVs in the global aluminium value chain.
