Tesla's mission is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. To achieve our mission, we’re building a world powered by solar, enabled by battery storage and transported by electric vehicles (EV). Tesla's EVs include the following - Cybertruck, Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y. Our EVs offer improved safety, performance and cost-of-ownership – plus way more fun. Another way to achieve our mission is by taking steps to improve sustainability with our manufacturing processes, especially in our aluminum value chain. This desire to drive sustainability is why we are joining ASI, as our views align in the maximization of the contribution of aluminium to a sustainable society. Tesla's Lathrop-Harlan site is leading the charge to be the first ASI certified site at Tesla. The Lathrop-Harlan site has many different functionalities but its main purpose is the aluminium casting operation which produces shock towers, torque boxes, and rear nodes for Models S and X. Model S Plaid has the quickest acceleration of any vehicle in production and Model X Plaid is the highest performing SUV ever built (more power and quickest acceleration of any SUV).
