First round of public consultation: feedback and responses now available for download

The first round of public consultation on the draft ASI Performance Standard V4 and Chain of Custody Standard V3 closed on 30 April 2026. Thank you to all those who responded, including the affected communities who engaged through the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Forum. We received input with significant breadth and depth from more than 650 responses and more than 1,500 individual comments.
Since the consultation closed, we have compiled and analysed the feedback to draw out key themes. The compiled feedback was discussed in depth with both the ASI Standards Committee and seven thematic Working Groups to ensure careful consideration of comments and to make improvements to the drafts based on consultation feedback. Today, we are publishing the summary analysis of the feedback alongside ASI’s responses to main points raised.
Stakeholders are now able to gain insights into the consultation outcomes via the following documents, now available for download:
- a summary of consultation feedback and ASI responses (pdf) – available in English and French with Mandarin to follow.
- a spreadsheet (xls) with the full log of anonymised first consultation feedback, along with ASI responses – available in English, but should you need the documents in another language, please email us.

To mark this major milestone, on September 22 (11:00 – 12:00 CEST), we will be hosting a webinar (Register here) during which ASI Standards Director, Chelsea Reinhardt will highlight the key themes raised through the consultation and update on the latest progress. We will also hear from Mark Annandale, Director of Research and IPAF Advisor, on how we ensured all voices were represented in the consultation process. In addition, several Standards Committee members will discuss how the feedback has influenced the Standards Revision process.
