Mr. Lamine Sidibe

Lamine has over seven years’ experience in assessing the socio-economic impact of natural resource exploitation in Guinea and West Africa, including revenue management, public policy analysis, and more. He has also developed strong expertise in energy transition and strategic minerals, which enables him to put forward analysis of the low-carbon transition strategy of resource-rich countries. He is currently employed with AWAD consulting, specializing in providing expertise in mining government and energy transition. Lamine holds a Masters Degree in Governance and Management of Impact in Extractive Activities. In recent times, he has contributed to the elaboration of Guinea's new industrial policy under GIZ and UNIDO funding and provided external training on the Paris Agreement, energy transition and transition minerals. He has also provided specialist advice for both the World Bank and the Guinean Ministry of the Environment and Sustainability on the potential implementation of the carbon pricing in the Guinean mining sector. He has also examined the relationship between Guinea's climate commitments and the government's industrial policy and has provided critical analysis and propose appropriate responses to stakeholders on carbon pricing measures in the mining sector. Before his current role, he was employed as a specialist collaborator with ASK Avocats and as an Environmental Security Commissioner with the Werra Association, located in Paris, France.
