ASI is pleased to welcome Norðurál – Century Aluminum Company as the newest Production & Transformation member, bringing the total number of members to 62.
Norðurál in Iceland is among the largest aluminum plants in Europe, with an annual production of 317.000 tons and approximately 600 employees. Norðurál converts renewable energy to a high quality and valuable export product with low carbon footprint.
Norðurál produces aluminum in an environmentally friendly manner and emphasizes that its operations are conducted in harmony with the environment. We strive to minimize the environmental impact as well as promoting responsible use of energy and raw materials. We welcome an International standard that verifies those efforts.
