Alcoa is ASI’s newest Production and Transformation member
ASI is delighted to welcome Alcoa as a new member of the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI), supporting ASI’s mission to define and deliver the first global standard for aluminum sustainability. Alcoa pioneered the aluminum industry over 125 years ago, and today, with more than 60,000 people in 30 countries, is a global leader in lightweight metals technology, engineering and manufacturing.
For 14 consecutive years, Alcoa has been named as one of the world’s leading companies for sustainability on the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Alcoa joins an ever growing membership that includes upstream and downstream companies in the aluminium value chain, civil society, industry associations and other supporters.
“Alcoa has a long history of partnering with key industry groups to advance sustainability and move us toward a low-carbon future. Joining ASI is a natural extension of our own sustainability efforts,” said Kevin McKnight, Alcoa’s Chief Sustainability Officer. “We look forward to working with ASI stakeholders to develop and deploy a global standard that drives responsible environmental and social performance and business ethics across the entire aluminum value chain.”
