Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. has achieved ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V2 (2022) Certification for its Zouping Xinsanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. and Shandong Longkou Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. facilities. This Certification covers the processing of aluminium coil and sheet. Both facilities are located in Shandong Province, China.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. has been successfully certified against the ASI CoC Standard V2 (2022). The facilities collectively produce and supply aluminium tab stock and end stock for the fabrication of ends of beverage and food metal cans. The facilities’ annual production capacity is approximately 100,000 tonnes. The facilities’ achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification in May 2023.

The ASI CoC Standard V2 sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the materials produced by ASI Certified Entities. The CoC Standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence processes are in place to identify and address critical issues, such as corruption, human rights abuses, materials originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas in the supply chain and support responsible sourcing.

The independent, third-party audit of the Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. facilities was carried out by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services. A full listing of audit findings outlining evidence of conformances and minor non-conformance is available from page 5 of the summary audit report, linked below. One minor non-conformance was noted under Criterion 7.2 Risk Assessment and Mitigation. Sanyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. will be implementing a corrective action plan, the implementation of which will be verified in follow-up audits.
