ASI certifies Kunshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. rolling facility against ASI Performance Standard
The facility’s operations include the development and production of ultra-wide and ultra-thin aluminium foil and non-ferrous metal composite materials.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Kunshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. has been successfully certified against the ASI Performance Standard for its Kunshan City operations, which produces double-zero aluminium foil destined for diverse sectors including food, cigarettes, medicine, daily necessities, cosmetics and other high-end packaging foil and high-grade foil for the electronics industry.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Governance, Environment and Social, which address key issues such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The independent, third-party audits of the Kunshan Aluminium Co., Ltd. facility was carried out by DNV GL.
