ASI membership offers a wide range of tools, resources and opportunities designed to support your organisation’s sustainability goals. Yet many members don’t take full advantage of everything that’s available to them.

This Engagement Journey highlights key actions you can take to get the most out of your membership. Each stop represents a simple activity that strengthens your connection with ASI, opens access to resources, and helps you participate fully in our multistakeholder community.

Click on any activity box to learn what it involves and how to move forward. Let your membership work for you—today and throughout your ASI journey.

One-on-one onboarding

There is a lot to know about when it comes to ASI membership benefits, engagement opportunities, and commitments. Set up a time to chat with our Membership team by sending an email to Chinelo Etiaba, COO and Membership Director.

Announce your ASI membership

We're proud to count your organisation as one of our members, so we'll announce your membership on our website and our newsletter. But you can do this as well in your internal and external communications - emails, website and social media. When you do, be sure to use the ASI Member logo.

Share your insights

Our monthly newsletter and Member Update are important methods of sharing internally and externally about the work ASI does and the certifications of our members. If you have a certification story you would like to share that demonstrates how your organisation has approached and has benefitted from ASI certification, get in touch with us. You can see how other members have told their stories on our website under the section: "Be part of something greater".

Log into educationAL

educationAL is ASI's online learning platform. It hosts a variety of information on a multitude of subjects related to ASI's work, aspects of certification, assurance tips, and deep dives on specific themes. Log into the platform - it's free to use for members and start your learning journey today. Note that you'll need to register the first time you access educationAL.

Nominate your elementAL contact

elementAL is ASI's online assurance platform. This is where all the information and evidence required for certification is uploaded during the assurance process. A contact at your organisation - as a member that is required to achieve certification - will need to be designated as the elementAL contact. This person will be responsible for interacting with the platform and uploading the required documentation. Contact us with this information and any questions you have about elementAL.

Attend our events

ASI hosts its own online events. These are noted in promotional emails as well as in our monthly Newsletter and Member Updates, so don't miss an opportunity to hear from our experts in the field on topics that are related to ASI's work on human rights, biodiversity, climate change, circularity or other key programmatic elements. In addition, you can consult our Events page for 3rd party events where we will be participating.

Sharing news via social media

ASI is active on Linkedin. We publish not only our own news and successes, but also news that is published by our members that demonstrate their activities and successes related to their ASI commitment. Tag our profile and we can repost to share the good news!

Check your organisation's member page

We have all of our members profiled on the ASI website's Members section. We want to give our website users the most accurate and up-to-date information, so if you see anything that needs an update, get in touch!

Collaborate with ASI

When an ASI Member requests our help to demonstrate to their suppliers or customers why they should get on board with our certification program and related activities, we will work with you to get the key messages across, be it through written communication, a zoom call,  via an online meeting, or a webinar that we can host. Let us know what the issue is and we can find a way forward together.

Share your feedback

Once a year, we will issue a Governance Survey to our members to get their feedback on how they think we are doing. Take the time to send back your thoughts and ideas so that we know if we're meeting the needs of our diverse and motivated ASI members. We can only make changes if we know what needs changing! More information on member engagement in ASI Governance.

Other surveys and questionnaires, like the Certification Survey help us to understand the key drivers, benefits and challenges associated with achieving ASI Certification and to monitor key trends and shifts over time, but only if we receive input from our members. We can onnly encourage your active participation.

Dive into the standards development workflow

ASI's Working Groups bring their expertise and experience to specific topics and themes of ASI's work. The focus of the groups change as the revision cycles progress. If you have the time, motivation and expertise to offer, and are interested to apply this to improving our certification system and sustainability theme work areas, we're very interested to hear from you!
