Shandong Foundry Metal Technology Co., Ltd has earned ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification for the production of magnesium and aluminium alloy components. The Certification covers aluminium re-melting and refining, cold and hot chamber die-casting, grinding, and CNC machining processes carried out at production facilities No. 6, No. 12, and No. 16 in Laizhou City, Shandong Province, China.

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Shandong Foundry Metal Technology Co., Ltd has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022). The entity operates three production plants and produces magnesium alloy and aluminium alloy products using precision die-casting and extrusion processes. It operates extrusion casting machines, cold and hot chamber die-casting machines, machining centres, and CNC machine tools for processing complex castings. The Entity has also developed recycling and melting processes for production waste and scraps. Its products are used in industries including automotive, electronics, telecommunications, photography equipment, and power tools, with an annual production capacity of approximately 1.2 million component sets.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process. It defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance – with the aim to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain, such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions.
