Golden Aluminum Inc. has achieved ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V1 (2017) Certification for its recycling-based aluminium rolling mill located in Fort Lupton, Colorado USA. The certification includes its proprietary block casting technology along with rolling, finishing and coil coating operations and associated processes and procedures. The facility achieved ASI Performance Standard Certification in June 2022.
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Golden Aluminum Inc. has been successfully certified against the ASI Chain of Custody Standard V1 at its aluminium rolling mill located in Fort Lupton, Colorado. The facility remelts aluminium, both primary and recycled, and transforms the molten metal through its proprietary casting process, to make rolled aluminium coils.
The ASI CoC Standard sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the products produced by ASI Certified Entities. The CoC Standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence process are in place to identify and address critical issues, such as corruption, human rights abuses, materials originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas in the supply chain and support responsible sourcing.
The independent, third-party audit of the Golden Aluminum Inc. plant was carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification.
“We warmly congratulate Golden Aluminum Inc. on achieving ASI CoC Certification for its Fort Lupton rolling mill. Responsible sourcing of material inputs is of growing interest to customers. Supplier due diligence and risk assessment criteria in the ASI Chain of Custody Standard provide a framework for the whole aluminium value chain. Through its new ASI CoC Certification, Golden Aluminum combines responsible production and responsible sourcing approaches in its business.”
– Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI

Having been founded over 40 years ago based on a recycling strategy, it is gratifying to be recognized by ASI as a company that remains at the forefront of supplying sustainable aluminum sheet solutions to our customers with an environmental and socially responsible focus.”
